Kaylin won some free ice skating passes from school and we had a lot of fun! Kaylin's choir got to go caroling around town to different nursing homes and to local businesses. It was fun to go see them sing! Here are also some random pictures from the month.

November was a pretty quiet month for us. I got to go on a field trip with Lucas's class to the water treatment plant, Kaylin had her school concert, we celebrated Cory's birthday, and we spent Thanksgiving with family. Cory spent many hours on the weekends and evenings building the kids' custom loft beds for Christmas. They turned out great and the kids are loving them! I'm not posting all of the videos from Kaylin's concert because she was in the very back row, hidden behind other kids because she is such a little peanut! I am posting the one video of her helping her friend who has autism. She loves getting to be the helper of her special friends! Custom loft beds!Walk-a-ThonThe kids' school held their annual Walk-a-Thon and I loved being able to help out with it and also get to walk with each of them! Omaha Henry Doorly ZooThe kids had a long weekend off from school so we decided to make a trip to the zoo! It was a little chilly but a great day! Deal's Apple OrchardLucas's 1st Hare Scramble RaceLucas did his 1st Hare Scramble race this year and absolutely loved it. He is already talking about doing more races next year! He ended up getting 2nd place for the boys in the 55 cc race. It was fun, yet nerve-wracking watching! Papa's Pumpkin PatchPumpkin Carving and HalloweenThe kids got to experience their first trick-or-treating in snow this year. Even with the snow and cold, we made the best of it and came home with too much candy! MiscellaneousCamping with FriendsKaylin Choir PerformanceKaylin has joined choir this year and they had their first performance at a Fall Festival. Love seeing her with her friends! Mountain Bike Trail RaceThis year both boys wanted to do the mountain bike trail race. Lucas moved up an age group to race 7-9 year olds and ended up getting 3rd place for the boys in his age group! He was so excited! New Camper and Camping at Pikes PeakWe finally took the plunge and bought a new, bigger camper just in time for our camping trip to Pikes Peak State Park with Nana and Papa. We enjoyed hiking and looking at the Mississippi River, visiting and learning about the Effigy Mounds (ancient Indian Burial Grounds) and we even got to go miniature golfing and Go Kart racing. It was a beautiful park and we can't wait to go back! 1st Day of SchoolWe are ready for a great year in 4th grade, 2nd grade and PreK! The kids are excited to all be in the same school this year! Over July 4th weekend, we went camping at the Maquoketa Caves. While the campground itself was not the best we've stayed at, we had a lot of fun exploring the caves. The kids loved hiking, climbing and getting dirty! Cooper Swimming LessonsKaylin Horse CampFor Kaylin's birthday, we had given her money to go to horse camp. She spent a week learning all about horses and getting ride them! On the last day of camp they had a little horse show to show off all the skills they learned. She was in Heaven and is already planning on going for 2 weeks next summer! We spent much of our spring and summer at a ball field 4 nights a week. While it was exhausting, we loved every minute of it and watching the kids grow! Kaylin played her 3rd year of Softball, and her 1st year of kid pitch! She learned that batting and hitting are a lot more challenging with kid pitch, and only 3 strikes. She worked hard and finally got to pitch in a few games, even throwing 4 strikes one game! She was beaming and we are so proud of her growth. Lucas played his 2nd year of coach pitch baseball and continues to love every second of it. He loves batting, catching and playing the position on the pitchers' mound. He gets better every game! At the end of the season he was 1 of 3 players on his team selected to play in the All Star Game! He had a great season and can't wait to watch him continue to grow. Cooper played his 1st season of Tball. It was filled with so many laughs! Multiple times he would hit the ball and run towards 2nd base instead of first (following where the ball went). When he played 3rd base he would run all over the field chasing the ball. He absolutely loved it and kept everyone entertained!
