What Do You Want to Be When You Grow Up: Teacher
As most 6 year old girls, she is full of attitude! I am getting little glimpses of our future teenager years, and I'm a bit scared ;-) Even with all the attitude, she brings so much joy to our family and lives would be so dull without her!
We had her Parent-Teacher conference this week and we were very pleased with how it went. She is right on track for her goals for Reading/Language arts and doing well with math. She struggles with staying on task and not visiting during her work time when she is suppose to be doing her journals and worksheets. But as a class of 6 year olds, focus is probably not one of their strong suits! But all together, her teacher didn't have anything negative or concerning to say about Kaylin. We are so proud of how well she is doing!
It's so surprising to me to see how much Kindergartners are expected to know now, versus when we were in Kindergarten. We are supposed to work on sight words, math, reading, etc. at home (which we do), but it is sometimes a struggle. Kaylin is so burnt out from working hard all day at school, when she gets home she just wants to be a kid and play, and I can't say that I blame her!
We love you Kaylin Marie! We are so blessed that we get to be your parents and get to watch you grow every day!
