We went home for the anual Bell Tower Festival the 2nd weekend of June. We went to the parade Saturday morning, it was Kaylin's 1st parade (that she was old enough to actually comprehend). She did really well until a fire truck honked it's really loud horn right next to us and freaked her out! But she still enjoyed it, unless there was something really big and loud going by, then she went back to stand by Daddy and Papa! Afterwards we checked out what they had going on up town (which wasn't much haha) then Kaylin decided she would spike a fever of 104 so that put an end to our fun. I think it was a reaction to her shots that she had a week before. Who knows! All is well now! Saturday night we had a bon fire and made s'mores at my parents! Kaylin loved her 1st s'mores!
Well, we have been keeping ourselves pretty busy around here! Here is a summary of our last few weekends! We went home for the anual Bell Tower Festival the 2nd weekend of June. We went to the parade Saturday morning, it was Kaylin's 1st parade (that she was old enough to actually comprehend). She did really well until a fire truck honked it's really loud horn right next to us and freaked her out! I think it was a reaction to her shots that she had a week before. Who knows! All is well now! Saturday night we had a bon fire and made s'mores at my parents! Kaylin loved her 1st s'mores! This last Friday I had the day off so I took Kaylin to the ISU Dairy Farm with my friend Tonya and her kids. They had tours and activities for kids. Kaylin enjoyed seeing the cows and eating ice cream! Then we went to the park for a picnic and played a little. Friday night we left to go camping with Amanda and Adam for the weekend! It was great weather and a lot of fun!

Last Sunday we went out to Happy Appy Acres (my mom works with Janet who owns it with her husband) to visit the horses (and the other various animals)! Kaylin was not sure about the horses, I have never seen her so speechless! We first saw the mommy and baby horses in the pastures (ok, so those are the technical names but you get the idea). Then we went into the barns and saw the other horses and chickens. We saw baby chicks, and I pet one......yeah, that's right, I touched a bird=growth! (I HATE birds in case you didn't know). Kaylin enjoyed seeing the horses and even pet a few of them. Two, one of their horses that I've know for awhile, even stuck his tounge out at us! Kaylin thought he was pretty cool! Her favorite part by far was feeding grass to Job, the donkey! She pretty much mowed their grass for them by pulling it for them and sticking it in the fence for Job. I had to drag her away otherwise we would probably still be there feeding him! We got to see and pet Sectretariat's great-grand-daughter, Dreamy, and her baby. Pretty cool!! (of course I didn't get any pictures of that....ughh). We can't wait to take her back again and for her to be big enough to ride the horses! |
