Since it was actually kind of nice outside this afternoon we decided to test out our new baby sled...and sled dog, apparently! Kaylin LOVED it! She was all smiles and giggles while sledding, even with crazy driver Presley (that actually made her laugh even more)! I know that I am including a ton of pictures, but they were all so cute I couldn't narrow them down! I also put a video up of Presley, the sled dog. We were supervising the whole time and she was buckled in so no babies were harmed in the making of this video! Plus, Presley is a very gentle dog and would never do anything to hurt Kaylin (ok, except for the few times when he is being a dork and accidently bumps into her, steps on her, runs her over, knocks her down, etc....haha)

This past week has been full of events and activities!!! To start, Kaylin turned 10 months on the 22nd! So I am including her 10 month Mongo pictures amongst the Christmas madness! Everyday of December we counted down the days until Christmas on our special cookie calendar that my Grandma Sue made me last year. Kaylin got really good at it, I would hand her the cookie and she would stick it up to the calendar and smile! It was really cute! Here's the rundown of our adventures: We did our "Christmas Eve" on the 23rd at home (Ames) where we started our family tradition of Kaylin (and future children) will receive pajamas and a book that she will wear that night and we will read the book before bed. The next morning Santa had made a special stop since we would be gone on Christmas morning! She got a doll stroller/walker and a puppy tent! She opened the rest of her presents from mommy and daddy too. Then she threw-up twice (once on Presley might I add)! -We thought it was just a fluke, but here I sit today at home with a sick daddy, and an almost recovered baby (she hasn't thrown up since last night). We went to Cory's parents house on Friday and opened presents there, where she got sick again..... Saturday we opened presents at my parents house (and right before we started she threw up again!), followed by a trip to Cory's grandma's and back for games and dinner with my family. Well now that I have bored you with pointless information......We all had a great Christmas, Kaylin was spoiled and will hopefully be back to 100% soon (Cory too), and I think she is getting more teeth! I will split the pictures up to try and keep them straight! (1st set- Our Christmas in Ames, 2nd set-Cory's parents, 3rd set-my parents) December has been full of Christmas festivities! Kaylin has been keeping us busy, as usual! She is very interested in the Christmas tree and she loves to take the ornaments off! Some of her new things include dancing to music, copying sounds that we make (for example at lunch I coughed and she fake coughed too, and smiled-it was too funny!), she has become terrified of people in baseball hats (even people she knows), and starting to show other regular fears (she is TERRIFIED of these giant gingerbread men that my mom has, we had to put them away becasue she would just sit there and cry looking at them!). A couple of weeks ago we made Christmas goodies and she "helped" in the kitchen! She became the official cookie tester :) We can't wait to celebrate our first Christmas together as a family! More pictures to come soon!! Presley update- This month we are celebrating the one year anniversary since Presley got really sick. He is doing great and we are maintaining his IBD with a special diet but other than that he is a regular, naughty puppy!! Cory update- Cory has a job interview on Tuesday for an engineer recruitment company based in Chicago (the hire engineers for serveral different companies in surrounding areas), so we are keeping our fingers crossed for something to come of this. I feel big things coming for the Ott family in 2011!!!! Happy Holidays! |
