So I bought this tunnel a long time ago when I did home-daycare and never really got any use out of it, until now! I was getting Kaylin's little castle out of storage when I came across it. Kaylin loves it (and so does Presley!) We got it out tonight in an attempt to keep her out of everything she isn't suppose to be in! Here are some pictures of her and Presley playing in it, she thinks its really funny that Presley likes going in there, she is always laughing at him!

We have been pretty busy lately, between keeping Kaylin out of the garbage, dog food, dog water, toilet, remotes, unrolling the toilet paper, well....you get my point, she is BUSY!!!! She is getting into that really fun stage and has quite the personality! She is starting to jabber and act like she is trying to have a conversation with you! It's really cute! She knows when she isn't suppose to be doing something, because whenever I say her name and go after her she starts running and laughing! Little turd! She has perfected giving kisses and when she gives hugs she pats you on the back. She has all sorts of new sounds that she is constantly making, but one of her favorite is the elephant sound. She has an elephant mobile in her room that she loves, and Cory makes a really good elephant sound that makes her laugh everytime! She is trying to make the sound too and raises her arm up like an elephant nose. It's too cute! She has a new thing that she does where she "bonks" her head against somebody else, and laughs, except sometimes it's more than a "bonk" and turns into a head-butt! She really likes to sit on and "bonk" Presley, she makes sure you are watching and then does it and laughs (I think she likes the attention! I don't know where she could get that from?!) She is growing in her sign language too, some of them may not be actual sign language but we know what she is trying to tell us so it works! We have also finally reached pony-tail phase!! Here are some pictures from the last month or so, sorry it took so long to post, she is non-stop! But we are loving every second of it! We werye lucky enough to havae some nice days to get outside and play. We are looking forward to many more nice days to come! Last week my friend, Chelsea (Simply Chic Photography) took Kaylin's 1 year pictures. We had them scheduled for a Saturday originally but then she was sick and in no shape for pictures! Chelsea was booked on the weekends for like a month, and myself being impatient, we decided to do them after work one day-without Cory's help (mistake # 1). She was in a really good mood when I picked her up from Bre's and was really smiley and silly, "Great!" I thought.....in that moment of insanity I forgot that she is one, and always has alterior motives.... So Chelsea tells me to pick my favorite outfits first incase she gets stubborn (professional I tell you...) so I go with the tu-tu pictures (I have been planning these for months) and her birthday outfit. She does pretty well during the tu-tu pictures, and kept running away during her birthday outfit pictures. So I tried to keep her in one spot by giving her some snacks (mistake #2). This got her appetite going and pushing on supper, she was done! The more I tried to get her to stand still, the more stubborn she got! Then we were both frustrated with each other! I had planned on hopefully doing 4 outfits, but we barely got through 3. She kept running to her pink cowgirl boots, so I thought maybe we would try them.....well, it wasn't exactly the outfit i had planned for them, but they turned out pretty cute (but with a face like that, how could you not be cute?) It was the only outfit she actually cooperated with! Little turd! Considering the circumstances, they turned out quite well and I am pleased, but we are still going to take some more another day and get some outside. Hopefully she will leave her attitude behind....but I won't get my hopes up! If you want to check out my friends work here is her website: http://www.wix.com/simplychicphotograph/simply-chic or you can find her on facebook under "Simply Chic Photography". She is awesome! While sharing a bowl of sherbert ice cream with Kayln before bed, I was working on getting her to sign "more please" before she got another bite. Being the impatient toddler that she is, she didn't want to do that! But I was persistent and made her. So in stead of signing "More" (touching her finger to her palm) and then "Please" (rubbing her hand across her chest) she invented her own sign! Her "more please" sign is her rubbing her hands together (kind of like washing her hands). It's cute, and she kept doing it when I said "say more please!" Even though she wasn't doing it right, I gave in :) Partially to prevent a major melt down, but also because she is too darn cute and I'm a sucker for her!! So to answer my own questions, I don't think she is lazy, but definately a pure genius!! Why do two signs, when you can just do one?!
Our little friend Peyton came to visit us the other day and to play with Kaylin. Cory and I use to babysit her and her brothers all the time when they were babies and growing up. It's fun to see her taking care of our baby now. I had to get a picture of my 2 little girls together!
Like the old saying goes, "Who said a dog can't teach a baby new tricks?" Wait a minute....I don't think that's right.... Well, this is what Presley has taught Kaylin, everytime we turn the water on in the tub, Presley sees that as invitation to have a drink.....thanks Presley.... |
