Here are my 30 week pictures from Kaylin and Lucas....you can definately tell that I'm carrying them differently, and Lucas may be a bit bigger ;-)
We have reached the 30 week milestone, only 10 more to go!! It's gone by so fast already and I can't believe we are in the home stretch....now we need to really figure out what to do with Kaylin and Presley when I go into labor (that's not important, right?!)

Yesterday we got to go to the Tracy Airport for a tour of the hangers and all the Airplanes with our playgroup! It was really neat to see planes taking off and landing up close and personal! Kaylin even got to sit in a plane and pretend to fly it! The man giving the tour told us about the different parts of the airport and we learned about how the show Myth Busters has filmed like 3 episodes there and will be filming another one next week! Pretty cool! After we finished the tour, we had a picnic lunch at the park next to the airport (not much of a "park" because it was only made of picnic tables and benches). Kaylin got a little wooden plane craft that we were going to do at the park, but it turned out to be way more complicated than expected, so it was a great little project for Kaylin and Daddy to do that night, and we painted it today! It was a great outing, and Kaylin is still talking about it. She loves to pretend to be a plane and "fly" around making plane noises! So I must have been nesting a tad this weekend because we finally got around to working on Lucas' room! It looks more like a nursery rather than a storage room! We hung up curtains and put the crib together, as well as moved out everything else that had landed in there but didn't belong! It's not ready yet, I still need to put some decorations up and have a baby to put in it but it's getting there! It won't be too long before we can put it to use! Cory loves to give Kaylin her bath (since he works all day, this is their special time together), and Kaylin loves it when Daddy does her bath because he always puts in lots of bubbles (apparently Mommy's baths are boring)!! Of course, Daddy got a little carried away with the bubbles this particular bath :) And to top it off, Daddy thought Presley would enjoy it too (Presley begs to differ).... Last week for one of our playdates, our group went to the "Go Bananas Play Zone" (which is in another town about 10 miles away). It was a pretty neat place, it's a warehouse filled with bounce houses and slides! They have a toddler zone specifically for children under the age of 4 that also included an area with toys for babies too. They had an area for bigger children as well with bigger bounce houses and slides. It was a lot of fun! Kaylin LOVED going down the big slide! She was a little hesitant at first but after I went with her (and she figured out how to climb to the top by herself) she was non-stop! She also went into the bounce house too (there were 2 different ones, a small and a big one), but wasn't too sure (I think she didn't like the netting that locked her in). She didn't really get the jumping concept, she just liked to crawl around in them. They also had a little food area where you could buy lunch for cheap. The only downside to the place was that since it's in a warehouse, there is not heating/air so it was pretty chilly in their when we went and I was told it gets really hot in the summer! Either way, it was fun and we can't wait to go back! I caught Kaylin chattin' it up with "someone" on my phone the other day....it was pretty funny :) Sorry for the shakey video (I was trying not to laugh) and you can't hear everything she was saying becuase I was sitting so far away and I didn't want her to know I was watching. Well, our visit back to Iowa has come and gone, we had a great time and can't wait to see all of our family and friends again! Considering it was a "vacation", man was it exhausting running around making sure we got to see as many of our loved ones as possible in 10 days! Well, to recap (without boring you), here is a summary of our time home: Day 1: December 28th- Kaylin and I headed out on our 1st flight at 5:45 am (yuck!) but she did great! She has never really been the "cuddly" type when tired, so she fought going to sleep at first on the plane, but didn't take too long before she crashed and slept through 1/2 of the flight. We had a long lay over in Denver where we had time to get some lunch and terrorize all the poor travelers at the airport! Kaylin had a lot of fun trying to run everyone over with the stroller and screaming "OWWW!" anytime I would grab her hand/arm when she tried to run away (such an adorable trait to pick up in public! NOT!) The 2nd flight went well also (minus a bit of a toddler attitute and fighting sleep again, but could have been MUCH worse!). We landed in Des Moines to meet Nana and headed home! That night we had my favorite Chinese and just hung around the house and Papa Mark, Grandma Chele, Uncle Chad and Aunt Tiffaney also stopped by to see us. Day 2: December 29th- Kaylin, my Mom and I headed to Ames for the day, stopping in Boone along the way to see my Grandma Clingan. We had a decent visit, Grandma was quiet but Kaylin got some smiles out of her (always a good thing!). We continued onto Ames to meet some of my friends for lunch at Hickory Park (my favorite Ames BBQ place). It was great to see my friend Chelsea before she moved away to Kansas City and has her first baby! After lunch we hung out at Aunt Tiff's house (who also joined us for lunch) while Kaylin took a nap. That night we met with a lot of my great friends from Ames at Carlos O'Kelley's so I could get my Chili Con Queso fix and catch up with all my friends. And of course on our way out of town, I had to get Jimmy Johns for a late supper! When we got home, my sister and her husband were anxiously awaiting our arrival and Kaylin had fun playing with them before bedtime. Day 3: December 30th- We spent most of the day at home with my family, and that night we had a small Christmas with my dad's family. Of course, Kaylin got more presents to open (because she is so deprived of love and toys) and had a nice supper with everyone. Day 4: December 31st- Kaylin and I headed over to Carroll to spend the day with Cory's family and have Christmas with them. We had pizza for lunch with Kaylin's Aunts and Uncles and after nap we opened yet more presents. Cory's Grandma Handley and Grandma and Grandpa Ott also joined us for supper. Cory's mom made my favorite, Beef and Noodles!!! They were sooo yummy! The weather started to look a little sketchy, so Kaylin and I had to head out a little early. Kaylin was wound up when we got home and acting silly, and rolling across the floor yelling "roll roll roll roll" (see video below) and actually made it to see the ball drop (keep in mind that she was still on CA time so it was only 9 pm to her!). Day 5: January 1st- We didn't have much planned this day, so we were able to just relax some more at home and hang out with my sister. Day 6: January 2nd- My Grandma Sue, Aunt Mary and Uncle Jake came down from MN to see us before we headed back. My mom made her yummy Ham Balls for supper and Kaylin got to open yet more presents (this poor child is going to think that Christmas lasts the whole month pretty soon). She was very excited to get the Rock & Roll Elmo from all of our family in MN. It's pretty cute, until you find yourself singing those catchy songs in the middle of the night....there's a few hours I will never get back! I have to keep reminding myself that she loves it.... Day 7: January 3rd- We spent more time with my mom's family before they headed back to MN. We even got lunch from my favorite BBQ joint in Jefferson (Bett and Bevs)! Day 8: January 4th- Since Cory's mom had to work most of the day that we were in Carroll, she came to Jefferson for the morning to spend more time with us, along with Aunt Katie. We visited with Kaylin's Great-Great-Grandpa Hap and Great Grandpa Ford for awhile and went out to lunch with Grandma Handley. I was glad Grandma Chele and Katie got to spend more time with Kaylin. Day 9: Jaunuary 5th- Kaylin and I headed back to Ames to meet up with my good friend Bre (the one that use to watch Kaylin while I was at work) and her kids. We played at the park (almost un-heard of in Iowa in January) and went out for lunch again at Hickory Park (didn't have to twist my arm too hard)! Kaylin was so happy to see Bre, Cade and Brynlee again. After lunch Kaylin and I headed back to Huxley to see Uncle Chad and "Goooo" (Magoo, their dog) one last time since Chad couldn't join us for supper on Saturday night. We also hung around to see Aunt Tiff after she got off of work. Day 10: January 6th- *Sigh* Whew, a day to completely relax since we had nothing planned....oh, and my sister came back for a few more days of "Kaylin time" and Bett and Bevs had my favorite ribs as their Friday night special, so you better believe I ate those up! After supper, Cory's Aunt Janelle stopped by for a visit! Day 11: January 7th- In the morning we went to my best friend from high school's baby shower! I was so excited that we were able to surprise her! Britney and I are due 1 day apart, but since she is pregnant with twin girls, she will have her babies before I have Lucas. We got to eat my favorite Chinese one last time for lunch too! That evening Cory's parents, and Tiffaney joined us for supper to see us one last time before we left the next morning! We had some more yummy food (Tiff brought me some more Queso-she knows the way to my heart!) Day 12: CA bound- we said our "Goodbye's" to my parents and sister at the airport and headed West, home to Daddy and Presley. The first flight she slept from before we took off until after we landed! We also shared our flight with my Regional Manager from the Child Care Center, which was kind of fun :) In Denver we had enough time to grab some lunch and get on our way again. Kaylin got her own seat on this flight (we also had an extra seat on 2 other flights but since she was sleeping I just held her). She sat like a big girl (for the most part) until the very end when she was getting tired so she sat on my lap again, but she stayed awake for the whole flight. It was so fun to watch her reactions to taking off and all the sounds of the plane, I'm sure everyone on the plane could hear her giggling and squeeling :) When we were getting ready to land I told her that we were going to see Daddy and she started waving out the window and yelling "Hi Dadda!" It was really cute! Needless to say, she was more than excited to see Daddy and get home to "Preh" (Presley). But I think Daddy and Presley were more excited to see us! We may not have gotten to see any snow (even though I brought home all of Kaylin's snow gear) but I can't say I'm too sad about that, other than the fact that I really wanted Kaylin to experience it because I think she would have loved it. We came home with a MUCH fuller suitcase, PLUS a rather large box that my mom has shipped out full of goodies, but we had a great time! Now to catch up on sleep and blogging! Well, that's it for our adventures.....As I look back, it may have been a slightly boring post.....but it took me so long to type it, I'm not deleting it now! And I may have focused a tad bit on all the food I ate while we were back, but I swear that was just a perk of our trip and not the whole purpose ;-) At least that's my story, and I'm sticking to it! Ok, So now for pictures....enjoy :) |
