I have been HORRIBLE about taking pictures and keeping the blog updated lately....so I am going to do a really random blog about some of the things that we have been up to the last 2 months! We have been rather busy with play dates, birthday parties, and spending time together as a family! The kids have been growing like crazy and keeping me on my toes! They are 110% brother and sister, always at each others throats, fighting, stealing toys and books, but still loving and adorable when they play nicely. Lucas is playing the role of "annoying little brother" perfectly, I often find Kaylin screaming because he is trying to sit on her or take something from her and he is just laughing and smiling away (Kaylin really dislikes that!). Kaylin he perfected the "bossy big sister" role, who likes to push, pull, drag and boss Lucas around, and when she doesn't get her way she just pushes him off the couch! (Hard to believe that sweet little angel would do that, right?! Wrong!)
What's new with Kaylin?! Well, she has turned into quite the book worm!! She is CONSTANTLY looking through her books, asking me to read to her, screaming at Lucas for touching her books, etc. Her current favorites are Fancy Nancy, Pinkalicious, Llama Llama books, and her Disney Princess storybook collection. She still loves singing songs, and has pretty much perfected "You Are My Sunshine". She may be on American Idol in the future ;-) I cannot keep that girl indoors (not that I'm complaining, but sometimes it's a little excessive!). We have really been working on her letters lately. She loves to use dry erase markers to trace some worksheets that I have, and she does a really great job! She is even starting to recognize some letters and tell me what sound they make! Her newest phrase when trying to get your attention is "Pssst, Mom". There is not a day that goes by that she ceases to amazing Cory and I with her tender, generous, and loving heart. She is so caring and thankful for EVERYTHING. She will ask me "Who send me this shirt?" and when I tell her where she got it from she will say "Let's tell them thank you for my shirt" :-) At supper she will say things like "Thank you so much for making me this supper, I love it!" (yet, she still won't eat it!) She is just so sweet and loving and it makes us so proud to see what a beautiful little lady she is turning into. Her memory is as sharp as a tack, she will ask me about things that happened forever ago that even I don't recall that well!
As for activities, she is currently in a little cheer-leading/tumbling camp through a company here in Tracy that are National Champions. She enjoys it but I don't think we will stick with it because they are pretty intense with even the little kids! But I have her signed up for swimming lessons in a few weeks, and for dance in the fall!! (Pretty sure I'm more excited about that than she is!) And last, but not least, we have a new gold fish, Goldie, that she is in love with :-) Thankfully it has survived a whole week!!
Now on to Lucas....Our not-so-little man! He has quite the personality and makes us laugh everyday. He is a HUGE Daddy's boy! Every time he sees Daddy's picture around the house or on the computer, or thinks he hears the front door opening, he yells "Da! Da! Da!". When Daddy does get home, Lucas is always wanting to help him unpack his lunch box and gym bag, he is his little shadow! He LOVES hats, we have had to practically hide all of Cory's hats because if we don't Lucas will point and say "Haa- Haa-Haa" until Cory puts the hat on. He is learning new words and still uses some sign language, but his main form of communication is pointing and grunting! He likes to show me what snack he wants, and if I give him the wrong ones he is not afraid to tell me! He tries very hard to keep up with Kaylin, and his little body can't keep up with his fast little legs, resulting in tripping a lot! (He also likes to run away from mommy when he has the TV remote!) He had to go to the dentist last week because he has 3 chipped teeth, which I'm sure is a result of falling. Luckily they aren't bad and we just have to keep and eye on them. He also loves to play outside, and typically spends the majority of our time outside dragging the kid-size rake and shovel around the back yard :-) He is taking after his big sister with his attachment to his "B" (tag blanket) and sleeps with 2 every night, and every morning he won't leave the crib without them. It kind of melts my heart :-) He loves to sing songs and has started to do the actions for them, his favorites are "Twinkle, Twinkle" and "I had a little turtle".
I'm sure there is more about the kids to talk about, but I can't think of any more right now! I love being able to stay home with them everyday so I can see and hear all the precious, and funny, things they do!
Alright....now for some pictures! (Sorry about the book, I won't be offended if you skipped it!)
I went to wake Kaylin up from nap on day to find her bed empty, after having a mini panic attack I find her curled up fast asleep on her stuffed animals :-)
