Today we dug out some old (well, new to Kaylin) toys/dress-up! She had fun trying on old dance costumes of mine and my sister's and dancing around like a ballerina, then we played Doctor with her baby, and Presley (which would technically make her a vet I guess!) We had some great mommy-Kaylin time this morning :) Here are some pictures from our morning!

For Thanksgiving I made us our own little turkey dinner, and might I add, that it turned out quite well! (Despite the fact Kaylin didn't touch it, but I didn't think she would). And now that Thanksgiving is out of the way....bring on Christmas!! We bought our tree on Black Friday (which CA has ruined for me....yikes!) and put it up Friday night and got it all decorated :) Kaylin loves the "Tee!" and tells me it's pretty all the time, however we tend to redecorate it every day! If I had a dollar for everytime I have said (and will say) "Put the ornament back on the tree" (which I have already said 3 times while typing this) I would have enough money to buy a private jet and pilot to fly us back home any time I wanted! But I love seeing her so excited about it! Yesterday after nap she discovered a few presents that I had wrapped and put under the tree, even though she doesn't really even know what they are, her face was priceless! And needless to say, she can't seem to stay out of them (like father, like daughter I guess haha)! We can't wait to take her to see Santa and the reindeer at the family farm nearby (even though she thinks the reindeer are horses!) I thought I would do a little post on myself, because I know you all are reeeaallly missing me :) I am now 20 weeks pregnant, which is the half-way point!! I sure hope the next 20 weeks go by just as fast and pain-free! So far this pregnancy has been very similar to Kaylin's- no morning sickness (thankfully!), very sleepy (especially at first, it's not so bad right now), and still loving my peas (a veggie I hated before I was pregnant with Kaylin)! The only real difference is that this time I only have to chase around 1 toddler instead of 18 (also a bonus!)! So all in all, doing pretty good!! This little boy has been moving all around, but is just as stubborn as his sister when it comes to letting daddy feel his kicks and punches!
I thought I would post my 20 week picture from both pregnancies to compare! We had our ultrasound this morning (due to the mix-up on Tuesday) to see our little bundle of joy, and would have been happy with whatever we got, but we are very excited to announce that we are having a little BOY!! We had to take Kaylin with us because we couldn't find anybody to watch her on short-notice, but she was SO good! She liked seeing the baby on the screen and has been saying "boy!" ever since! Unfortunately the tech didn't give us very good pictures, not sure why? And she didn't label or tell us what they pictures were of! So I will post them, and if you can tell what the heck they are, please let me know!! Either way, we are so thrilled and can't wait to meet our little Lucas Alan (yes, we have had the named picked out since we were pregnant with Kaylin!). Here are 2 very short clips of Kaylin "singing" (doing the actions) to 2 of her favorite songs, since she won't ever do them for anyone on Skype! (Her attention span is obviously short!) Now, I know what you are probably thinking.... "man, Bridget has such an AMAZING voice!" I know, I know, but I have already turned down American Idol for the life of a stay-at-home-mom and I'm happy with that choice....America is just going to have to deal with the absense of my vocal magic ; ) Video 1: Wheels on the Bus (I LOVE her smile, it just shows how proud she is!) Video 2: 5 Little Monkeys Swinging from a Tree (The part where she sticks her fingers to her forehead, she is suppose to stick her thumbs and wiggle her fingers there to "tease" the alligator) We have our ultrasound appointment set for next Tuesday morning at 10 (or 12 for everyone back home)! We plan/hope to find out the gender of the baby, assuming he/she cooperates! What's your guess?? Vote below! If you guess correctly, you get the satisfaction of knowing that you were correct :) We will announce the news on Tuesday so get your votes in!! After many, many, many requests for pictures of the house, I have finally done it! I apolgize for the wait, I wanted the house to be more put together and look like an actual home! Granted it's not perfect, but I figure it never will be, so here they are! (note: the house was very clean and toy-free before I started, but Kaylin decided that the house look too neat and helped out with that!) If you click on the small pictures it will open them up larger and they have captions/descriptions (I did it a little different than usual this time). I purposefully didn't take a picture of the garage right now... It looks like a bomb went off in there :/ I'm in the process of trying to organize it, which of course means it has to get worse before it gets better! (Our garage is being used as extra living space and storage since it's carpeted and actually really nice- the owners used it as a a pool table/recreation room, plus it has our laundry area). Living Room To the left when coming in the door The Kitchen is kind of small, but it works fine for us and it is attached to our dining room area (just off the living room) We have nice (but small) fenced in back yard off of the kitchen (Presley is sitting in front of the door in the dining room picture) It has a nice awning and patio. There is also a lot of cemented space on either side out the house (inside the fence) but I didn't see the point in showing that since it's kind of boring haha :) Going back to the front door: when you take a right, there is the hall way that goes to the rest of the house. Left: 1st door: bathroom, 2nd door: our master bedroom. Right: 1st door: baby #2's room, 2nd door: Kaylin's room Bathroom Master Bedroom Baby's Room This next room is the baby's room, but right now it is kind of the crap-catcher! So we will call these the "before pictures" haha! I will be sure to post pictures of the finished room....whenever that may be! The Princess' Domain!
(Excuse the make-shift curtains...we are going to be getting some black-out curtains soon). So, I know you are probably sick of reading about us by now...but her are a few new things going on around here Kaylin- Kaylin is becoming such a big girl! We have been working on potty training (kind of), when she goes potty in the potty she gets an M&M (or an "Emmmy!" if you ask Kaylin). She has been doing pretty good, I hope she continues to progress! We bought some "Big Girl Panties" that she is really excited about, so hopefully we will be able to use them soon! She has also been drinking out of a "Big Girl Cup" with no lid, she actually does really well with it! Only a few spills! Bed time/nap times are hit or miss, she still thinks it's a game to get out of her bed a million times, so we are working on this, trying to figure out the best strategy. We refuse to go back to the crib, because then we will just be dealing with this in a few months. Hopefully she will just give up soon and stay in her bed the first time! We have started a new bed time ritual, which is one of my favorite times of the day! Since we can all fit in her big bed, we all crawl in together (including Presley!) to read books and sing songs before bed! Kaylin loves it and listens to books way better than she use to! Usually Presley will stay in bed with her for awhile, until she is asleep or until he is sick of her crawling over him, haha. She is constantly talking, and I'm starting to understand a lot of what she is talking about, kind of! We have been talking a lot about feelings lately, and she will repeat things I say or talk about how mommy or daddy is sad when she poops in her diaper! She has such a fun personality when she is happy, but on the other side, when she is grumpy or sassy she turns to hitting with her lips sticking out in her "I'm a sass" pouty face (I should try and get a picture of this sometime). She will swat at Presley, Mommy, Daddy, the wall, her dolls.....basically anything within reach....I'm not a fan of this, so it's hard to not laugh at her ridiculous face! She is usually good about giving hugs after she is over her fit. And last but not least, she has learned 2 very important life lessons....1) How to blow raspberries on mommy's tummy (thanks to daddy) and 2) How to give daddy wet willies (hehe thanks to mommy) Bridget- Not much new here...I feel like I have grown a lot in like 2 days, I have had to dig out all my materenity pants (which I forgot how comfy they are!) I definately am starting to look pregnant, instead of just chubby!I have been feeling the baby move around a lot more, which is awesome! I say this now, but in a few months I will be complaining about the baby making camp in my right rib cage.... My back has been hurting a lot lately, I'm hoping that it goes away a.s.a.p. because I feel like I've been neglecting Kaylin cuz it hurts too bad to chase her or play with her. Cory- Cory is still loving his job, however I wonder sometimes how he gets anything done since he likes to take breaks to play the video games they have in the office (since they can no longer play ping-pong)! He showed me what he was working on....needless to say...I don't get it, but it looks very cool and complicated, so it must be important, right?! Presley- If he isn't sleeping or prancing around his new back yard, he has been keeping his eyes peeled for his new enemy....the neighbor cat that has been walking across our fence and backyard...I don't think the cat knows what he is getting himself into..... Well, I think that is all for now....here's a few more pics! We decided to skip trick-or-treating this year for a few reasons: 1) Kaylin is still at the age where she doesn't really get it, plus she doesn't really need a bunch of candy! 2) We are new to Tracy and don't really know the neighborhood(s) well enough yet to just venture out! So, we decided to hand out candy instead, which Kaylin loved anyways! She was WAY too much help! When kids came to the door, she held the bowl out for them to pick the candy, and when we were waiting she was either biting into the candy (several had to be removed from the bowl to be consumed later) or stealing Twix bars (her FAVORITE) and running away from me laughing! We had about 50 trick-or-treaters and when I shut the light off and shut the door when it was done Kaylin started crying and trying to open the door! Apparently she wasn't done giving out candy! I don't think Kaylin minded staying home, considering we still have a TON of candy left over for her to snack on! (Note: count how many pictures Kaylin has candy in her hands....actually, it might be easier to count how many she DOESN'T have candy haha) |
