One quick post before we introduce our newest family member :-) .... We finally had gotten enough snow AND a beautiful day out to test out the kids' new sleds and shovels, and Lucas's "snow bike" (we got little ski attachments for his strider bike). We all had a great time :-)

Here is the much awaited post on the new house....it's mostly put together, but there are still some things that I want to get done (small updates, more pictures up, etc.) I'm sure it will take years for us to be officially "moved in"! Some of these pictures I took this fall (like the outside pictures), and some I took recently of the mostly completely rooms. We moved into our house on September 19th. At the time of move in, it was a 3 bedroom 2 1/2 bath, now it is 4 bedrooms :-) We have a large lot that includes a large flower garden (which probably won't stay, because I know nothing about tending to a flower garden and with 3 children, I doubt I will have the time! Cory wants to turn it into a fire pit or something in the future....but I don't see that happening for awhile!) There is also a small shed and an extra 2 car garage (Cory's "shop"- which was probably 99% the reason he was sold on the house haha). We have a small fenced in backyard, which we plan to extend in the future to make more running room for the kids and Presley but it's better than nothing for now! It's located on a quite cul-de-sac with nice neighbors (from what we can tell). We are really happy here and can't wait to make lots of memories! Kaylin's roomWe bought the house with the plan to turn the large room in the basement into 2 rooms...Kaylin's room and a toy room. For the first few months she had her own little space on one side until we could get the project started. Cory and my brother-in-law, Adam, started late November with studding the wall and closet. Cory did everything else by himself (except my Dad helped him prime the walls and ceilings) on nights and weekends. He worked long and hard and I'm very thankful to have such a handy husband who would do it all! It turned out amazing! I got pictures of most of the process, but obviously missed some of it because I was tending to the munchkins upstairs, trying to keep them out of Cory's hair. We still have to paint the toy room, but figured that could wait until after the baby came ;-) Before picture: one large roomWhew.....I'm all caught up (ok, except the house pictures and Kaylin's room- which is DONE!!-Well, mostly...she can at least live in it)....It's my goal to get to all of that before the baby comes :-) But I make no promises! We spent New Year's Eve at home....I spent the day (the whole week actually) nesting like crazy and getting the baby's room ready. We finished the night playing a few of the kids' new games from Christmas and had lots of laughs! I wouldn't have traded it for the world. 2014 was a great year for us (Cory's new job, moving home, new house, baby on the way, new nephews and niece to love on, shall I go on?! haha) and we are looking forward to 2015 even more!! Here's to a fantastic year to you as well! Cory's Great Grandpa Hap turns 99 on January 16th, but since everyone was in town we had an early Birthday celebration! It was a great time to take updated photos of everyone! Kaylin loved serving cupcakes and ice cream to everyone, she even waited to serve herself last :-) We are shooting for the baby to come on the 16th so he/she can share a Birthday with Grandpa....we will see what happens :-) Sunday we did Christmas with Nana and Papa and my family. Once again, we were all spoiled! Thank goodness for our new van or it wouldn't have all made it home with us (it barely did the way it was!) The Saturday after Christmas we celebrated Christmas with Grandma Chele and Papa mark and the rest of the family. The kids had a great time with the cousins and we were all spoiled! I am 37 weeks along (almost 38 now), everything is going great! Baby Ott is still very active and growing perfectly! The Dr. gave us the okay to travel, even though I was already dilated 1 cm, as long as we were ok with the possibility of delivering elsewhere. Since I have been feeling fine with no signs of actual labor we decided to go ahead and travel home for Christmas, and brought the baby carseat and a few other items "just in case" (because we figured if we had them, then we wouldn't need them!). Luckily everything worked out fine and the baby stayed put, just like I instructed it to! Here are some comparison photos from all 3 pregnancies wearing the same shirt :-) KaylinLucasBaby #3Side-by-Side ComparisonThis year I got my wish, which was to spend Christmas morning with our family in our own house enjoying all the Santa presents and watching the joy of Christmas through the kids' eyes! Growing up we always spent Christmas morning in our own house enjoying all of our Santa gifts and it's one thing I want to do with my kids too. We had a lot of fun on Kaylin's Christmas break leading up to Christmas day. We baked and decorated sugar cookies for Santa, and made some Gingerbread houses that Elvis, our Elf, left for us. We opened our Christmas presents from each other on Christmas Eve so the kids had time to play with everything since we left for Jefferson Christmas day after lunch. We have also got to spend a lot of extra time with Cory since he has had lots of time off too. We are all in for a rude awakening next week when we have to go back to reality! Kaylin's Pre-K class put on a little Christmas program one morning and performed a few songs and decorated some cookies. One of the teachers in her room is a sign language interpreter and she has a classmate that uses sign language as well, so they had signs to use during the songs but Kaylin didn't really do most of them, but she was still adorable ;-) (She wasn't really into doing some of the songs because her nose was itching from the red paint-as you can tell because she wont stop itching her nose or looks bored out of her mind haha). She also made us a little gift, which we opened with Cory that night after he got home from work. It was an tile with her handprint on it turned into snowmen :-) My favorite kind of gifts! Earlier this month we were able to get together with Cory's Grandma and Grandpa Ott and all the cousins. It was great to see everyone since it's been awhile since we were all together, and most importantly Grandma Ott got her family pictures ;-) |
