We are now reaching the stage where it's easier to just run out the door without having to worry about forgetting some baby necessity. I keep a stash of diapers and wipes in the car and as long as he has a snack and a cup of milk, he's ready to roll! (The last 2 items are a luxury most days! Haha!)
Here are some of the things Cooper is up to nowadays:
-Talking up a storm! While most of the things he says I think we only really understand what he is saying.
-Says "Ya-Ya" for Kaylin and "La-La" for Lucas- it's basically the most adorable thing ever.
-Newest phrase/s- "Whaz zat?" or "Who's zat?" pointing at things/people. It makes it nearly impossible to get through a book
-Points to body parts when asked
-Makes some animal sounds (although lately everything is saying "moo" again)
-LOVES books and actually sits through several of them
-He is SOOOO independent! He will climb up onto the stool and up onto the counter to help himself to a snack. Gets into the fridge (when I forget to lock it) and brings me the gallon of milk, juice, or whatever he has a hankering for
-Loves to play out in the snow with the big kids
-Answers "No" to everything, even when he means "yes". We've learned that just a "no" means no, but a higher-pitched "no" with a giggle typically means "yes" ;-)
-Wants to do EVERYTHING that Kaylin and Lucas are doing and be wherever they are. If they lock him out of a bedroom where they are playing he will cry and run and get a screw driver from the junk drawer and tell me "gock!" (aka Lock) and attempt to unlock the door with the screw driver haha! (Too smart for his own good)
-He is still a terrible eater- he basically lives on milk. He will snack and eat fruits/veggies but usually when it comes to main dishes he won't touch them (unless it's hot dogs, mac and cheese, PB&J, fish sticks or chicken nuggets) Due to being slightly iron-deficient and drinking more than the recommended amount of milk, we are suppose to be cutting back- which he is not a fan of!
-He has a mouth full of chompers- his last 2 year molar is working it's way in- s.l.o.w.l.y. I'm not sure it that is why he is waking up every morning at like 5 or if he's hungry from being cut down on milk. (Either way, it's gotta stop! This momma is TIRED!)
-Sleeping in his big boy toddler bed! After a rough week-long struggle, he's usually pretty good about it (except for the whole waking up too dang early thing)
-Kind of potty training- I'm certainly not pushing it, but he loves to go potty in the potty and lately has been telling/asking me a lot to sit on the potty and will almost always go. So we are kind of just rolling with it!
-Loves Paw Patrol and Dinosaur Train (TV shows) even though he doesn't typically last long watching them before he runs off
-Loves dinosaurs (hence the party theme) and he calls all dinosaurs "George" after a little orange stuffed dinosaur that use to be Cory's when he was little. Cooper has now adopted him as his own ;-)
-Has to sleep with his "G", "Ger" and "George": G-Tag blanket (but it HAS to be his Marvel Superhero one), Ger- Gerry the Giraffe, and George the dinosaur. Plus his bed is constantly infested with about 7 other stuffed animals of some sort or another!
-Sour Patch Kid- enough said. He will slap you in the face and follow it up with a hug. And he's so damn cute he gets away with it.
-Loves to give hugs! He likes group hugs, single hugs, tight hugs, side hugs....any hug will do!
-Has to have his "G" (tag blanket) to wrap around his cup to drink his milk. He's kind of a weirdo ;-)
-After being bald for forever, he is finally getting some hair (very fine like mine) and it is starting to curl. It is SO cute! I can't wait to see what it does at it gets longer.
-Loves to throw things....anything that is light enough to throw or that he isn't suppose to have. He's got a promising pitching career in his future.
-When he tickles some one, instead of saying "tickle tickle" he says something like "diddle diddle diddle"
-His favorite time of day is when Daddy walks through the door. You'd think he was a celebrity or something....I never get that kind of welcome!
I could go on and on all day long. He is such a character and while he may make me want to pull my hair out some days, I absolutely love getting to spend all day at home with him. He may be as busy as a bee, but he also loves to curl up on the couch and snuggle with a cup of milk and a "nigh-nigh" (blanket).
He had his 2 year check up and the Dr. said he is growing perfectly! We just have to keep working on the milk intake and attempting to get him to eat better (ha!).
His stats were:
Weight: 28 lb 4 oz - 52%
Length: 36" (laying down on the table)- 86%
(Except when we measured him against our wall ruler at home he was about 35")
Here are his 2 year Bongo pictures. He has grown SO much and some days I have a hard time dealing with it!
