We came to my parents on Saturday to do our taxes and I think Kaylin has been missing Gizmo because she walked up to him, started petting him and said "Hi Giz!" plain as day! It was so cute! She has said it several times since then! I will try to get it on video, but who knows if I will be able to catch it! It's really cute!

We have been very fortunate to have such a healthy baby through her 1st year, except for a few small short-lived bugs. The day our baby turned one the fever set in, and here we are 6 days later and she still has a fever. She has had a fever of 100-102 all week, and that is on medication :( I'm not one who likes to pump my child full of medication, but thank goodness for Tylenol and Motrin! I couldn't imagine where her fever would be without it!She went to the doctor on Wednesday for her check-up and they said it was just a virus that she would have to just wait out. By Saturday I was starting to get concerned that her fever hadn't gone down below 100 and I called the nurse. She said the same thing, "Can't do anything for her" and said it was possibly influenza that could last from 7-10 days. Great! I have exactly 7-10 days of sick time! NOT! Well, we decided to have her tested for influenza and RSV and she came back positive for RSV. So far she is doing ok, she has a her moments of acting "normal", and 20 minutes later she can be melting down over nothing. She has a really nasty cough where she sounds like she is going to throw up and can't catch her breath. It's heart-breaking! Hopefully it will just get better and we won't have to do breathing treatments or oxygen, but time will tell. Luckily we have family who can help us out with the next few days so she won't have to go back to Bre's and get her kids sick too (hopefully they aren't already exposed!). We are ready for this to be done, this Momma is tired!!
I took Kaylin's Birthday off from work so we could spend the day together! We had a lot of fun playing with all her new toys and napping together! After Daddy got home we went out to Hickory Park with Nana for supper. Kaylin wasn't eating very well and was getting kind of fussy and when we got home we took her temperature and it was 101.1 :( So Wednesday she was sick with a fever all day and had her One-year check up. They say it's a virus (shocking, I know) and you can't do anything but wait it out. So I get to spend the day with her again today! (No complaints here!) Since she had a fever she couldn't get her vaccination, so we have to go back when she gets better. But she was 30" long (80%), weighed 20 lb. 8 oz. (42%) and her head with 18" (70%)-must be pretty smart ;) The doctor thought she looked great! Now we just have to get her to feeling better! I'm going to put up some pictures from her birthday and her 12 month Mongo pictures. There are also 2 videos, one is from last week showing off some of her Sign Language. We don't push it a lot, but she has picked up a few from us doing it as well as at Bre's (she also signs please but that's not in the video)! The other is from her Birthday playing with Presley (ignore my random comments, haha)! It's kind of cute! On Sunday we had Kaylin's 1st Birthday Party at the community room in our apartment building. We had lots of family and friends help us celebrate. Kaylin got lots of great presents and a monster cupcake cake! She ended up pushing half the cake on the floor and saying "Uh-Oh!" It was a lot of fun! Thank you to everyone who helped us celebrate. Enjoy the pictures and video! Kaylin was getting tired and not much in the mood for pictures, she was either going to fast for me to catch it, or too grumpy to smile... Her one-year pictures next weekend should be interesting! Sorry there are a lot of pictures, they were all too good, I obviously didn't put all of the present pictures up. It seems like Kaylin has grown overnight! A few days ago she was only walking from person to person with bribery and now she just takes off on her own and is all over the house!! Today I got a video of her walking the longest yet! I can't believe that she will be one in only 18 days! I have also posted a few pictures from this last month or so! |
