She hasn't grown much in the last few months, she weighed 23 lb. (31% for weight) and was 32 inches tall (61% for height). So she only gained 1/2 inch since her 15 month check-up. I didn't take a Mongo picture, partially because Mongo is packed, but also because I don't think I can get her to sit still long enough to get a picture! I want to attempt to take some 18 month pictures of her myself hopefully soon....we will see how that turns out ; )
Kaylin had her 18 month check-up last Friday. She checked out well over all, as usual!

At the beginning of August we went to my Aunt Jo's lake house at Lake Panorama for a little family get together with my dad's side. It was nice to catch up with everyone and spend some time with family that we don't get to see very often. We had lunch and took Kaylin for a little swim in the lake. As a little going away party, a bunch of my friends from work got together for dinner. It was a lot of fun and I will miss working with all of them! Kaylin has been going to my friend Bre's for daycare since January. I have always loved her going there because I knew she was in great hands and Bre always took her to do fun things! Here are some pictures from her last day with Bre, Cade and Brynlee. Today Kaylin helped me give the dogs a bath! She was "lots" of help! Well, the question really should be "What isn't new??".... Since I have last blogged (which I know has been a long time) there have been just a few changes in our house.....
Well, to begin, at the end of July, Cory was offered a job (again) at his life-long dream job working for Valley Engineering in Livermore, California. This time we "couldn't refuse" it, since it has been 2 years since Cory graduated and having no luck finding a job around here, we decided to grow up a little and make the big move.... Cory has been out in California since the first week of August working his new job as a Jr. Engineer. Kaylin and I stayed behind so I could finish up work, and pack up our apartment and get it leased. About a week after Cory accepted the job and we both put in our notices for work, we found out that Kaylin is going to be a BIG SISTER!!! While we are very excited, it is still a little scary considering all the change :) Due date is still to be determined, but we expect it be around the beginning of April! At the end of August we got our apartment leased and moved back to my parents until we get a place out in California. Last week was my last day at the Vet Med Child Care Center, where I worked for almost 5 years. It was a bitter sweet day, as I will miss all of my friends and the great families I met there. But now I get to be a stay-at-home-mom, my life-long dream job!!! Kaylin and I have been having a lot of fun at home together the last few days, mostly relaxing and chasing her around. A little update on what Kaylin has been up to: -She is going to (hopefully) be very easy to potty train! Every morning after breakfast she sits on the potty and poops :) Then she claps for herself, it's really cute! She has peed in the potty a few times, but I haven't been pushing it, just following her lead as to when she wants to sit on the potty. I have a feeling she will be potty trained by April for sure!! -She has been working on her awesome dance moves for her Uncle Chad and Aunt Tiffaney's wedding that is in less than 2 weeks, she is the flower girl and will be awesome! Pictures to come soon! She loves wearing her dress and she calls herself "Pitty" (pretty). -Her vocabulary is growing all the time, she is always copying what I say and trying to tell me very important things :) -She kind of understands that mommy has a baby in her tummy, I will ask her where mommy's baby is and she will kiss my tummy and say "baby", it's really sweet! -She loves to talk to Daddy on Skype everynight. When she hears the "Skype ring" she runs to the computer saying "dadda!" They play peek-a-boo and she likes to show him her dance moves. -Kaylin is officially obsessed with her "Ki-Ki" and blankie (her pink kitty she has loved for awhile and her taggy blanket she has always loved). She likes to take them everywhere with her but whenever she is upset or scared she cries "KI-KI" and Ki-Ki makes everything all better. We made the mistake of forgetting them in Ames while moving one weekend and discovered that no Ki-Ki=no nap! Luckily we were going back to Ames for more things. -Kaylin throws one mean tantrum! -She is getting pretty good at puzzles, if she takes the time to actually try haha -She can point to all of the basic body parts -She thinks the squirrells in Papa's trees are monkeys :) Well, that is all for now, I will do some more blogs/picture slides of the last month. |
