Procrastination has been my middle name lately and it was only natural for me to procrastinate on family pictures and now I'm kicking myself. We tried to get some taken a few weeks ago but it was windy, really cold and pretty unsuccessful. We got a few "okay" ones, but I'm not happy enough to print them. I'm hoping we can retry them, otherwise I guess we will have to wait until Spring. Our baby boy turned 6 months old this month! I can't believe how much he has grown! He weighs about 50 lb, about 1/2 way to his full-grown weight!

I am so lucky to be able to get to go on field trips with my kids and this fall I got to go with Lucas's class to Eagle Point Park to learn about trees. While he was a little ornery, but overall we had a great time! We kind of love our Mavi-Moo! We were able to make time to have some special one-on-one dates with the kids this month. Kaylin and I did a Mom & Me Halloween paint class together, Lucas and Cory went to a movie, and (thanks to some last minute free tickets) Cooper and I got to go see Paw Patrol Live! It's so nice to get the kids alone and get to really spend uninterrupted time with them. We tried out a "drop-off" class for Cooper to see how it would go. The 1st day was great, he was so excited for "school" and did awesome when I dropped him off! He got a little upset right before I came to pick him up and when we came back the next week for the 2nd class, he wanted nothing to do with it! He was bawling and didn't want to stay. I guess we will try again when he's a little older! School pictures 2017/2018 We took advantage of a gorgeous fall day and took a family trip to a pumpkin patch nearby, Papa's Pumpkin Patch. The kids had a great time and we love spending family time together. They had fun carving and painting their pumpkins before Halloween. 1st Big Boy haircut for Cooper! It was hard to cut off his sweet baby curls, but they were getting a bit out of control! He sat so well and looked about 3 years older when it was done! We took the kids on a long weekend camping trip to Backbone State park. While the weather was like 90 degrees (and even hotter with the heat index) and the bugs were horrendous, we still made the best of it and had a great time together. We went on lots of hikes and played in the camper to stay cool. Can't wait to go camping again next year, hopefully when it's not so hot and nasty out! Kaylin begged us to sign her up for basketball and she has really been enjoying it! Goodness- I thought life would get less hectic once school started. I could not have been more wrong! I was elected (aka suckered into) the PTO President at the kids' school and that has been occupying a lot of my time this fall. So, now I'm going to try and catch up before the Holidays (so I can procrastinate posting those until like February! Haha!) August was filled with lots of family fun, camping, adorable puppy snuggles and last minute summer adventures before school started again. |
