Over Memorial Day weekend, Cory's grandparents drove out from Iowa to visit us and meet Lucas. They brought out Lucas's toy box (which I didn't think to get a picture of) that Grandpa Ott makes for all the grandchildren, and now great grandchildren! Sunday we spent time together around the house and playing outside. We had a picnic at the park and played for a little bit too. Monday we decided to venture out and take a trip to San Fransisco and to go to the Aquarium of the Bay. It was pretty neat, but for what you have to pay to get in, not really worth the money. But we still had fun, Kaylin obviously loved it and liked seeing all the fish and even pet a star fish. Lucas loved looking up at the fish swimming above him as we went through the tunnels on the moving sidewalk (BEST idea ever!) We had a nice visit with them and were glad they made the drive out!

Kaylin loves to sing....there is no question about it! She is always asking to sing her favorite songs and now is starting to make up her own songs! Last night I got one on camera just for your viewing pleasure! Cory and I take great pride in the fact that we constantly tell Kaylin how proud we are of her, whether its regarding potty training, being a great big sister, or just having a good day. Apparently it's rubbing off on her :-) Here is her appropriately titled song "Proud of You"! The release date of her single is yet to be determined ;-) So today took a few videos.....the 1st one is of Lucas just being Lucas. It gets a little dull in the middle, but is really cute at the end (ok, so I think it's cute...but I may be a little biased). The second one....well...enjoy :-) (I swear I don't let Kaylin handle him like this usually, but it was just too cute to not get on video before I stopped it!) I can't believe our little man is already one month old, it went by too fast (I think because we were so busy with family here). He has already changed so much, in looks and personality. We think he's starting to look a little bit more like Cory (in the face), except he is now loosing his dark hair and growing in lighter hair. I think he is going to be a little blondie with blue eyes! He's starting to be more awake and alert and getting settled into a routine (kind of). And my favorite part is that he is starting to smile! I can be so frustrated with him and/or his sister and he cracks those little smiles and the best time and melts it all away :)
He's been a pretty good sleeper from the start, and still is. He usually only wakes up once a night (at precisely 4 am!) but sometimes twice. He's getting pretty strong and can hold his head up quite well. We have to work a little more on doing tummy time, he's been spoiled a bit by being held by all the family that we had visit! A couple of times when we was doing tummy time (when he was 2-3 weeks old) he rolled himself over from his tummy to his back! (Probably because he was kicking and screaming and his big noggin pulled him over!) As you may remember with Kaylin, we took her picture with her monkey, Mongo, to show how much she grew. We are doing the same with Lucas, but with his puppy, Pongo! Here is his One-Month picture with Pongo. *On a side note, I looked back at Kaylin's baby book and when she was 2 months old she was 10 lb. 5 oz. and 23 inches, compared to Lucas who was 10 lb. 6 oz. and 22 1/2 inches at his 2 week check-up! We are going to have a big boy on our hands!! Before Papa Mark and Grandma Chele left, they bought Kaylin a new BIG pool! We have already played in it several times....even though the water is ice cold, Kaylin loves it and asks to play in it everyday! Nothing can melt your heart more than little baby smiles :-) I had a hard time choosing just one....so I didn't! We have discovered that his top lip is ticklish and it makes him smile. Papa Mark, Grandma Chele and Aunt Katie came out to visit us and meet Lucas last week. We had a lot of fun playing out side in the beautiful weather and spending lots of time playing and snuggling the kids. Needless to say, the kids got spoiled rotten :-). Here are some pictures from their visit! We really wish that Uncle Chad and Aunt Tiff could have visited too! We were lucky enough to be able to have my sister come out and spend a week with us this past week! Here is a brief summary of some of the things we did, including pictures of course! She had never been to CA so we took her to San Fransisco on Sunday, we weren't able to do the Golden Gate Bridge since the main road that goes to it was closed due to construction but we got to spend a beautiful day at Pier 39! Amanda and I took the kids to the Oakland Zoo one day too. Lucas did great on both of these trips, spending most of the time sleeping :) We had a lot of fun just hanging around the house and playing outside, and also went to the park! She also took some family pictures for us, and I will post those later when I find another free minute (HA!). We were so glad Amanda could visit, and were sad to see her go. But now Cory's parents and sister are here for a visit! |
